The Music Ministry exists to provide musical experiences and opportunities in worship, which draw people into worship enabling them to experience the very real presence of God. There are a variety of programs offered in the Music Ministry, each of which provide music opportunities beyond weekly worship for growth, skill sharpening, and outreach. For more information about any of our Music Ministries contact Camille Wilson.
The Chancel Choir provides music leadership for our two Traditional worship hours, 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. Singing a wide variety of musical styles from many different composers and arrangers, we follow the admonition of 1 Corinthians 14:15; to sing with spirit and understanding. Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.
The Contemporary Worship Band leads the music for our 11:00 am Contemporary Service. They do mostly familiar praise and worship songs, but they also work in the occasional hymn (done in a contemporary style of course!). The group is always looking to work in additional musicians, but a simple musical skill assessment is required.
The Wesley Ringers is our handbell ensemble. Ringing in worship as music becomes ready, the ensemble rehearses in the sanctuary Wednesdays from 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Some music reading ability is helpful and regular attendance at rehearsals is essential.
The Bowman Brass is an all volunteer brass ensemble, playing in Traditional worship times on a monthly basis as well as for special occasions such as Easter and Christmas Eve services. Often they accompany our Seasonal Choirs for larger musical works.
