With Hurricane Irma forecasted to make landfall this Sunday in South Florida, significant regions of Florida and Georgia are under a mandatory evacuation order. Martha Bowman Church has been invited to respond to the needs of the evacuees coming to our community. The following are some of the ways we can help.
Our Methodist Home for Children and Youth are hosting approximately 150 additional children and adults from a Methodist Children's Home in Central Florida, along with residents from their St. Mary's Campus and potentially the Valdosta area. While donations can be taken to the Rumford Center at 304 Pierce Ave. from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today (Friday), we are suggesting that you make a financial donation this Sunday in worship or through our giving link by clicking here. Write on the check memo: "Methodist Home - Irma." Click here for more information.

We ask you to be alert to updating emails or social media posts over the next 48 hours. We will be offering specific details about how you can engage in aiding guests coming our way. More information will be forth coming with specifics regarding how you can help.
In the meantime we pray...
Dear Lord, Be with all your children in these hours and days of danger. Be especially with those who are most vulnerable in the path of this storm. Help us to depend on you and love and serve one another. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
