Small Groups

One of our hopes is that everyone at Martha Bowman United Methodist Church will take part in a setting for growth and fellowship.  In order to achieve this, we offer a variety of small group offerings on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School classes meet at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday Mornings in various locations around our church campus. We have a wide range of classes, so whether you are a college student, an older adult, or somewhere in between, we should have a class for you! You can read more about our classes by clicking here.

The Sonshine Room

We also offer a Sunday School class designed for special needs adults: The Sonshine Room. The class is staffed by trained teachers who are full of love and compassion for others! The Sonshine Room is located in Room L10 (on the lower level of the Education/Administration Building accessible by the elevator located in Damascus Hall. Open during the Sunday School hour (9:40 a.m. - 10:40 a.m.) and the 11:00 a.m. service hour.

Contact April Foster for more information.

Also throughout the year we offer a variety of short-term group studies, which last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Most of these meet during the week, and if you are interested in finding a class or study you can contact

The Senior Adult Ministry is designed to provide a sense of community by holding monthly "Birthday Bash" lunches (4th Tuesdays), taking periodic day trips, and going to local eateries of interest with the "Out To Lunch Bunch." Contact the church office for specific dates and times.

Please contact Fran Magoni for more information on the Senior Adult Ministry.

WOmen's Ministry/UMW

The purpose of the Women's Ministry is to provide women opportunities to grow in their relationship with Christ, to encourage fellowship with other women in their walk of faith, and to challenge them to exercise their gifts through service. We offer multiple women's Bible studies, as well as multiple United Methodist Women's Circles.

Please contact for more information on Women's Ministry.

Fishers of Men

The Purpose of "Fisher's of Men" is to find ways to serve and, in doing so, draw people to Christ, to the ideal service, to good works and good fellowship, and wanting to know more. Their goal is to empower the ministry of Christ through men within the congregation and in the community.
